Looking for a Drill that i can chase a pipe into a concrete floor?

The Titan brand in screwfix seem to get good reviews for the price.
The SDS drills are brilliant for what you want and once you have used one , you will be amazed at the power of these drills.
One tip though, put a smear of grease on the end of the bit that goes into the chuck otherwise it will be very difficult to remove after you have finished. I made this mistake , and although I got the bit out in the end it was a struggle.
I now keep a small container of grease in the drill case and put a smear on each time.

It's a good move to cut two grooves in the floor first with an angle grinder / Stihl saw or whatever, and then reach for the SDS breaker.

Basically I have been quoted from a local company to move a pipe,I have a price if they cut the chase and a price if I cut the chase, the difference is about £155. I would have to buy/hire the tools and also find the time to do it, in two minds about what to do!

Please be aware, the dust will be indescribable if it's inside.....a Stihl saw can have a water attachment, an angle grinder relies on someone else spreading the water.

The other way to do the chase is to drill a series of holes as close together as you can along the line of the chase then use the chisel to complete the job . At least that way you won't have to buy or hire more tools, all you will have to ensure is that the drill bit is wide enough and you drill the holes deep enough.
For a wide chase you could drill a series of small holes side by side as above, but as said already, a angle grinder would make it easier.

There are wall and floor chasers (based on angle grinders) around which overcome this by proper shrouding - but they require class M industrial vacuum cleaners to stand any chance of clean working. On my current project the sparkies and plumbers are using them. Not cheap, but fast. The chase still has to be cleaned-out with a rotation stop SDS and chisel. In my own house I'd have to opt for hiring. Using a drill for hours on end to the annoyance of neighbours to stitch drill a chase which would still require cleaning-up with a chisel and bolster (or rotation stop SDS and chisel) is not my idea of DIY heaven
