That's awful I'm afraid well tbh its shocking have you bought this house? It all needs doing properly and that door frame is a joke, how did this ever get passed an inspection I don't know

Hi thanks for the reply,
luckily now not a brought house but i was hoping to buy im obviously very worried about the multiple snags that seem to be popping up by the dozen, i am not sure that when the house
Was "fully refurbished" it even had an inspection.
do you know what the effects of having this right the way through the house could be? House was built in 1577 and is the original manor of bodmin.im also disgusted that a house with this much history and age has been modernised to such an appallingly low standard

Well if it wasent done by contractors and its a diy job then its fair to say nobody has passed it I can't see anyone getting paid for bad work like that , as for effects on house it will have no effect on the house itself but it looks like this work was done by someone whose not in any trade what so ever and maybe done as cheap as possible to rent out over all its just a pile of cr@p a decent contractor needs to be brought in to sort it out, can we see someore pics? Just interested to see what the rest is like

Hi, Steve is spot on, that is awful, do you mean Bodmin in Cornwall? Presumably the building is listed and if it is, a conservation officer should have been consulted before works commenced as to what an acceptable schedule should be applied and I cant see that they would accept badly skimmed plasterboard as a finish, if the walls are solid slate or brick you will be looking at future damp issues with that lot stopping the walls ability to breathe, as said, more photo's would be entertaining.
