Hi,

I had a new extension built and the plasterers left the screeded floor in a state. I have swept/hovered up plaster dust but there are many "blobs" of plaster dried on the floor. Do I need to scrape all of these off? Or can I just SBR the whole floor as is prior to the compound going on?

Thanks

Phil

It's not difficult to get plaster up, get a shovel and just scrape it off.

Typical bloody plasterers ;)

Personally I would be questioning why the floor needs levelling if it is a new screed

You need to remove all the plaster off the screed before putting a primer and smoothing compound screed Down.
If I turn up to a job and the concrete is covered in plaster ( which is a lot) then I charge to grind it all off.
A screeding compound won't stick to plaster.

Thanks guys. I grinded off plaster and primed then added compound. Long story builder messed up screed and I had to grind down and level areas. Builder not contactable now so just finished myself.

I called mapei tech support. They were good.
