Thinking about replacing my Baxi Solo 3 PF70 and would like the modern equivalent in respect of Heat only and Output.

Would appreciate views on the Worcester Bosch Greenstar Ri (27Kw) as such a replacement?

Many thanks.

Why are you considering replacing the Baxi, has it become unreliable? If not, keep it, the WB certainly isn't any better and contains more plastic components than you'd really like to see on a supposedly premium boiler (including a rubber gas pipe, which does perish and split from time to time). The WB is a bit of a pain to work on too, and you'll need a new burner gasket every time it's serviced, which increases servicing costs

70 K btu? You sure don't need the 27 Ri as a replacement 24 at the most 18 at best.

Keep the solo for as long as possible

Fix the Solo, they are a robust simple boiler with generally only three components that fail, all of which are still readily available. PCB, Air Pressure Switch and Fan. If all three were replaced, it would still probably last longer than a brand new one.

Agree with above. You would be foolish to replace the Solo unless it was beyond repair.
