Does this symbol on fuel cap mean car is petrol engine

If it were a diesel then the vehicle name on the back would show a D to denote Diesel.
For example Corsa CDi, if there is not a C then it is a petrol.

Petrol fillers have a small diameter throat plus a flap that closes the orifice off.....diesels don't and it's not usually possible to get the diesel nozzle in.
Of course, it's too easy to fill up a diesel car with petrol
John :)
Yeah done that!
My labourer and me pulled up at the fuel station, we needed canned fuel and the van filling. He grabbed the diesel can and me the petrol. We removed both pump handles together and tried to fill our respective cans. The attendant started yelling and I did not hear what she was saying until she came out and said one dispenser at a time please. In the confusion I grabbed the labourers pump (which was wrapped round mine and was actually the petrol pump) and started filling the diesel van with it. I knew the instant I could smell the vapours that I'd done summat daft.
I think I was about £300 quid down by the time the Fuel Man had pumped my tank dry and I'd filled up again. There is something unjust about paying for fuel you are about to have dumped.
Ho hum.

Do you know what a rev counter on the dash is?
Diesels normally only go up to 4/5000 before having to change.
Petrol are 6-8000 depending on makes etc.
