I had a new pir fitted when we had the kitchen done a Texecom Premier Elite Compact QD Quad Element PIR but when we open the door the sun glares off the door onto the PIR setting it off. Is there a anti glare per i could fit rather then move the PIR as i dont want to damage our new kitchen

Thanks

when we open the door the sun glares off the door onto the PIR setting it off.

Can the PIR see the door ? if so then it should react to the door being opened.

If sunlight reflected by the door is creating a patch of bright light on a wall that patch will include reflected thermal energy ( IR ). If the PIR can see that wall then when that patch moves the IR image will change and the PIR should react.

If this PIR is setting off the alarm when you are returning home before you can dis-arm the alarm then you need to re-site it.

Are you sure ? Is the kitchen pir a new zone ? Eg you didn't have one in there before and do you have a contact on the kitchen door ?

Yes there was one in the kitchen it was relocated when the kitchen fitters built a new cupboard.

Looks like i need to move it, thanks

Find that strange as the Texecom pirs have a white lens ( white light filter ) does the door in the kitchen have a contact that starts your entry exit timer
