Carlton C60 FX Element Blown

So i was cooking and the oven gave off a loud dull bang with a really bright flash, which really shook up my wife and daughter. Luckily the oven door was shut. I tried to use the grill, but nothing, not even the light came on.
Upon inspection i found that the oven heating element had a hole in it. This was obviously the problem. Ordered a new one and fitted. But still no light, grill, fan etc. Nothing, but why? There is power to the oven, i have checked that with my meter. Is there a fuse somewhere, i cant see one. Is it a thermostat, but why wouldnt the light come on?
Please help, i dont like pies from the microwave. Thanks

How have you checked that power is going to the appliance?

I have checked with a multi meter

It was the thermostat that had blown. Replaced, now working fine.
