Split faced slate tiles....

The wife wants these in the kitchen but being uneven what's the best thing to do with the sockets as they won't sit flush? Is there a secret to installing them?

i wouldnt advise fixing split faced on a kitchen wall, tiles can not be grouted for one, cleaning will be a nightmare too. theres plenty of split faced effect ceramic tiles that you will get a similar effect imho.

Lee has it right, cleaning will be a nightmare but it will also be a nightmare on ceramic split face effect too.
