I've been looking into initial setup for kitchen lighting with the option to expand to more zones in other rooms and have found the WiFi 104 controller - up to 12 zones.... For my initial setup of just 4 receivers and 10m of RGBW - £650 !!!

So I've just been looking at Philips Bridge and Hue and the LED strip which claims up to 50 devices.....as this wouldn't just be limited to lights through the bridge = more home automation possibilities.

The strip starts at 2m, expandable up to 10m....what I don't understand is surely there a limit to the number of strips (or zones) you can connect at 10m?

Does anyone have the Hue strips installed if so can they give me a idea of what's possible, Philips promo videos are rubbish !

Just for reference, i purchased some LED strip from amazon (less than £20) and a wifi controller x3 (£14 or so each), and i can control 3 different sections of strip in my kitchen via an app. works fine, and no where near as expensive as the hue stuff, although it doesn't have the integration etc that that does - but does it matter? :)
