I'm going to do a bit of tiling for the first time. I have chosen a 200mm x 100mm metro style tile, the sort with a slight bevel to it. What sort of trim is better on this sort of tile, the normal plastic tile trim or a quadrant type ?. When placing the first row of tiles on the worktop, do you put a 2mm spacer under it or place directly onto the worktop ?

I would personally use a plastic quadrant as the cuts can be unsightly and a quadrant can sometimes address this.

You need to allow for movement so a 2 mm spacer and a bead of silicone( not grout) will see you right.
