Correct leadwork against abutment wall join

Hi folks, I would appreciate thoughts from any experienced roofers reading this.

I have just had a leak repair carried out to a pitched roof on an extension that abuts against a main vertical wall. The tiles are Marley Eternit Modern flat interlockers, and there is no secret gutter or cavity drain installed at the abutment. In the photo attached you can see that new 400mm soakers in code 4 lead have been fitted over the tiles and then new cover flashing disc cut and rendered in above the join to overlap vertically. It all looks quite tight, but I have now seen info that states that soakers should not be fitted over flat interlocking tiles. Does this seem to be the correct fix for this type of roof, or should it have been done differently?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Looks fine to me. We like to fit a drip soaker beneath the tile for a belt and braces approach.

secret gutter works as do soakers under tiles... this will work but might be vulnerable to wind uplift.
I'm more curious about the strip of lead used to weather the upstand

Thanks for your time and feedback guys,

Is there another name for drip soakers, as not heard this term before?

Should the loose soakers have been sealed in a different way? The original flashing that failed was just tucked up behind the old bellcast render, this new one has been bedded into the main wall render.

is it inserted into a chase in the wall? or is it just tacked to the wall and rendered over? (the Bead is Noted)

Is it definitely code 4?

look online for your free copy of calders booklet of good practice

Yes, all the lead was code 4 and the wall was disc cut and the flashing fixed into the recess before the bell render cover went over. I was more concerned whether the soakers were best on top of the tiles or underneath as I've seen in some photos and articles.

On top. The decent width of yours is helping a lot.
We used a proprietary plastic-slotted-sleeve-type-soaker-flashing-thingy, specifically designed for a flat (non-profiled) tile aboot 4 years ago. Works ok. Ive also fitted my own version of a lead soaker beneath in conjunction with a flashing above - same result. I've also seen broad flashings like yours, with zero soaker below, work ok too.

Hello
I havd just had my done like this. Roofer is coming back only to secure the felt which turns up against the wall as some places battens are to short and dont hold it against wall.

The soaker goes under a Marley Mod - just as its always done for people who know what they are talking about.

Apologies for hijacking this thread, this is very much my situation too, I can see the lead over the tiles, is there (supposed to be) also something under the tiles that we cannot see on the photo?
