Hi Guys

Just had a quick question, how would I screw a bolt into a anti slip nut (pictured)?

I am really struggling to properly screw it in, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Those are Nyloc type nuts.

You screw them onto the bolt with the plain metal end. The plastic gripper goes on last and prevents them vibrating loose, so often used on machinery.

After they have been used once, you are not supposed to use them again because the plastic part is deformed when you tighten them down.

The torque settings are not the same as for a plain nut, and if you use them again, will be different each time. Depending what you are using them for, this may be acceptable.

It may seem an obvious question but here goes.....

Are trying to screw the bolt in from the correct side of the nut? - i.e. from the back of the nut as pictured in your original post.

.....if the thread is correct, the nut should spin on freely until the nylon insert is reached.
I would imagine its sorted by now!
John :)
