I'm kind of in the same boat. need to do my windows, which are flaking quite bad. Was rather hoping that the landlord would go for double glazing but thats not going to happen. Im fairly familiar with DIY, tend not to mess with water or gas. I can paint ok but wasn't sure about whether I should take as much paint off as possible (or all), use some sort of wood sealer, then primer/undercoat then a decent high quality gloss for outside. May try another website
