brick work design - can you buy half tiles

I've not seen halves for the bevel edge tiles but have done a few kitchens with glass brick style tiles which you can get a half tile for, ideal for external corners and stopped ends. Well infact they are a fraction shorter than half to allow for a grout line. J

    angled shelves...

You can also drill the two cupboard sides for shelf pins and just set the back pins one hole below the front and that will tilt all your shelves. J

Are IEC C13 connectors waterproof ?

By waterproof I mean suitable for external use and in close proxcimity to water. It was posted on a koi keeping forum, and c13 sockets had been used to take pump connections into a waterproof enclosure. Here is the thread if you want to see it, also looked like the wires were just twisted...

Where can I buy 1lb cut Shellac or simliar product?

A 1lbs cut is quite a weak mix so you won't get an off the shelf polish that weak. You could buy one with a known cut and then dilute it to get what you want. You can buy small digital gram scales of e-bay for about a fiver, often sold for weighing gold and odd powders  J

Where can I buy 1lb cut Shellac or simliar product?

The "cut" refers to the strength of the mix. a 1lbs cut is 1lbs of shelac flakes to one US gallon (3.8lts) of alcahol So just proporting your mix accordingly as you won't want that amount so you would want about 30grams shelac to 250mls alcahol, 120g per litre, etc Transparent shelac...

DIY Japanese shoji style wardrobe doors - Will this work?

If painting the back then also paint the front of the panel before sticking the paper on. With the doors comming out at 26mm you would have to use the softclose Blums for thick doors, even then its getting a bit thick, 15mm MDF would be better if you can get it, 12 would be OK but can feel a...

DIY Japanese shoji style wardrobe doors - Will this work?

I'd probably come down a bit on the thickness of the timber as 10mm may be a bit thick and start to pull your doors. I've done it a few times with 12mm veneered MDF and matching hardwood styles & rails but only 6-7mm think and not had problems with movement. I would also suggest you use moisture...

    pocket/sliding door gear

That Hercules gear is not really for pocket doors. The eclesse has the fully formed pocket that you just build in and on double doors like dubdad wants the two doors are linked so as one is opened the other also slides back into the wall at the same time. Matt do you work for Buller by any...

    Walk in wardrobe interior advice

Get white faced 18mm MDF its better than the 15mm chipboard but has the same surface finish, you will just need to lip the edges. You can buy centre supports for hanging rail but I prefer not to go over 600mm long if possible. J

router for door hinges and locks

I use a Makita 3707 laminate trimmer but the little bosch palm router would be another option. 15 to 20mm bit. I only make up a jig if there are a lot to do, most other times just makrk the ends of the hinge with a knife and use the fence on the router to get width. Onece cut just tidy the...

    routing bevels

Yes you could do it with a rail guide, infact thats probably the better method given that they are panels which would be hard to keep flat on the average router table. J

    routing bevels

All of the ones below will work in a table or if you do as BA says then thebearing will guide them. http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Chamfer_Bevel_79.html Or if you want a flatter chamfer then the last one here will do as it cuts 20mm, again needs a table...

Rivit nuts are better suited to steel as this is the woodwork section you may find this more suitable. The prongs grip the wood so the nut wont turn rather than trying to expand a rivit nut into wood which wont work Tee Nut...

MDF Cupboard Doors - Glue & Cramps?

Any half decent PVA will do or one of the Titebond Alphatic resins, brush it on to make sure the surfaces are all covered. Run a bead of glue down the groove as well to stick the panel in for added strength. Clamp door up on a flat surface, if the ends have been cut true the door should...
