    Most of these testers are very sensitive to static, you'll probably find if you hold the tester in one hand while keeping the other hand in contact with the wall fairly close by you will get sensible readings :)

    I had one meaner than that! People had bought the house on the understanding the house had been rewired. When I started looking the tails in the skts/cu etc were recent pvc, but behind the boxes he had crimped to old v.rubber cables. That house was sold by a Spark!!

    Help - Induction hob confusion

    Could be due to the thickness of the hob, you will prob be OK with 38mm w/top, but not with 27mm, as long as there is 8-10mm space between oven and hob it should be OK

    WHY? It's acceptable to NICEIC !!! Fitted kitchen funiture is as much the FABRIC of the building as a stud wall.

    6KW hob... not cable sizing but as good as!

    Flameport you have obviously not found "hobrite", Our ceramic is as clean as the day I fitted it near 9 years ago! But to the OP, no you can't plug it in, it must have a dedicated radial circuit.
