Had enough of incompetent gas engineers over the years.....As for availability they're certainly not as rare as hens teeth....No problem with the cost of electricity.....I live alone, heating on for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening, so a light user of gas or electric.....

My 20yr old Ravenheat gas boiler is coming to the end of the road.....I'm seriously considering replacing it with a Electric Combi-Boiler.....would appreciate any feedback re supplier, preferably British manufacture if possible? Property is two bed terraced cottage - total six rads. Many thanks.

That's very true - I think I'll have an engineer install a new diverter valve(with micro-switch) and cross my fingers......many thanks for your assistance, Tony......

Hi Tony....the head of the valve(with micro-switch) faces to the back of the boiler and is impossible to see due to the position.

Ravenheat 820/20T .....been reliable over the years.....the problem I have and I hope you can shed some light on why there's no hot water at the tap(?)....The central heating is working perfectly but for some reason there's no hot water. I see thermistor gets mentioned a lot for this type of...

I don't have the room unfortunately for a an external vessel as the boiler is in a small cupboard in the bathroom. The original will have to be replaced.

Many thanks.......I've had an engineer out to have a look as the pressure on the gauge was down to 1bar cold and 3bar when hot.....the vessel was re-pressurised(1bar). The pressure on the gauge is now 1.1 when cold and 2 when hot.....a slight improvement.

It appears my expansion vessel is coming to the end of the road.....the model of boiler is a Ravenheat fan/combi 820T......I would appreciate an approximate cost of installing a replacement vessel? Many thanks.

The freezer compartment is functioning as normal but the fridge is not......should I automatically assume the thermostat has failed?

Had the element checked.....it's OK....it's the grill switch that has an intermittent fault.....will I have pull out the oven and remove the side panel to replace it? Many thanks......Steve

Many thanks for the reply. The trip in the main fusebox blew but the grill still worked at the time....now only intermittently, which from your comments suggests a faulty element. I'll have it checked! Many thanks again.

The grill element is working intermittently....comes on for a few seconds only....then goes out.....any clues, new element or new control switch? Many thanks.
