    Aga Mark 1 Burner

What a strange person you are. If you read my first post I said I have my Aga serviced every year, I didn't say that I serviced it. I use a local Gas Safe engineer who has not been specifically trained on Aga's so I'm simply trying to find out if that particular part is serviceable or not...

    Aga Mark 1 Burner

You obviously didn't read my posts properly - I have no intention of attempting any gas work myself. I am trying to find out as much information as I can about that particular Teddington valve before I contact the Gas Safe engineer who regularly services my Aga.

    Aga Mark 1 Burner

So, are you saying that particular item is serviceable? The reason I asked the question is that if that Teddington TDH is not serviceable, then I will have to have the complete burner unit replaced at a cost of approx. £750 + delivery + fitting, so probably about £1,000.

    Aga Mark 1 Burner

I have an AGA with an original Mark 1 Burner, which I have serviced every year and it works fine. The Burner is fitted with a Teddington TDH on/off valve with an integral regulator and lately the on/off valve has become very stiff and difficult to turn on and off. Both the Mark 1 burner...

Bosch Dishwasher door will not latch shut

Hello, I have a 7 months old Bosch Avantixx Dishwasher and the door will not latch closed - so the machine won't start. There is a plastic latch which drops down and locates in a groove in the top of the door. The latch seems to have dropped down while the door was opened and is now...

Blanking plug for dishwasher cold feed hose

The washing m/c and dishwasher are supplied from a plastic 'y' piece that doesn't have a valve on it. The 'y' piece and hoses are squeezed between a wall and the washing machine and are not accessible without taking out the washing m/c. There is a service valve before the 'y' piece but...

Blanking plug for dishwasher cold feed hose

There is a service valve but it also cuts off the kitchen cold tap and washing machine. I was hoping to turn it off to allow fitting blanking plug and then back on again. The supply end of the dishwasher hose is very difficult to get at.

Blanking plug for dishwasher cold feed hose

I need to remove my dishwasher temporarily and was wondering if there is a plug available to screw into the cold feed hose when I remove it from the back of the machine.

How to adjust UPVC door hinges

Well the WD40 seems to have done the trick !! Have moved the whole door up by about 2mm and horizontally by about 2mm at the bottom and 1mm at the top and in between in the middle. The door is now latching and closing perfectly. Thank you both for your help. If it does move again in...

How to adjust UPVC door hinges

Many thanks to you both. It looks like the door has dropped causing the sprung latch to be out of line. Also it looks like the latch will only latch by about 1mm and that's why I wanted to adjust the door horizontally as well. I've sprayed some WD40 down the hinges and also on the...

    Cavity Trays

Yes there is a large flat window above the bay. It's about a foot narrower than the bay on each side and I have checked that it is properly sealed with silicone all round. Is there anything else I should check here? Thank you.

    Cavity Trays

Right thanks. Would this need to be pointed into the inner cavity wall or would it be rigid enough to self-support? Also what would be used for end stops? Thank you.

    Cavity Trays

I have a problem with water leaking onto the internal plaster ceiling in a bay window. It's a semi detached house and the bay is a ground floor bay with a flat leaded roof. The wall above the bay is stucco rendered and has some wooden beams inset into the stucco. All lead flashing is intact...
