    Outdoor lights install

Yeah the CU is under the stairs in the centre of the house. Though there is a route outside because I had an EV charger fitted a few weeks ago.

    Outdoor lights install

I've changed the switches in living room and recall there's only a com and L1 in the light switch. Sparkie number two did say he didn't think it would have one given the age of the house. Sparkie 1 now says he can come at weekend but I'm worried he's going to bodge something

    Outdoor lights install

I've supposedly got an electrician to be coming to install 8 outdoor down lights on the walls around the house, running conduit between them. He made no mention of lifting floors or cutting ceilings. Anyway, he's been giving me the run around so I got another electrician to give me a quote for...

Tile backer board to damp wall

Have removed the tiles that were coming from wall around bath, and the plaster beneath is damp. Removing bath tomorrow and installing new one. Was hoping to stick waterproof tile backer boards to the walls with adhesive then drill into wall when cured. Will I be ok setting the board to this...

    Replacing bath - water connections

When I change the bath I want to fit isolator valves. If I put a valve on the end of the current ¾" pipe and then run a short length further along wall, can it be reduced to 15mm given it's supplied by a combi or should it stay at ¾/ 22mm?

    Replacing bath - water connections

I did contemplate taking the valve out but knowing my luck it'll disintegrate and I'll not get it back together.

    Replacing bath - water connections

Going to replace the bath this coming Friday. The stopcock is at the back of a cupboard switch has a removable back in it. Looks like it's embedded in concrete.

    Replacing bath - water connections

Been trying. None seem to want to bother themselves with that or fitting a bath. Maybe it's the time of year.

    Replacing bath - water connections

The water company have been and cleared the concrete on the external stop tap. Asked a plumber for a price for replacing stopcock in house, he suggested he'd fit a new one above existing one. Sometimes it feels like the current one weeps, I'm not too keen on this approach. When I told him this...

    Replacing bath - water connections

Am I likely to end up in an argument with water company about the stop tap being filled with concrete?

    Replacing bath - water connections

The isolation valve had a flat face male end, and the flexi has a male end too. New flexi fit existing olive perfectly.

    Replacing bath - water connections

Couldn't fit an isolation valve like I wanted to because I couldn't get the correct fitting. If I swap the bath next weekend I'll look to fit them then. But at least the leaking tail is replaced.

    Replacing bath - water connections

Just turned on basin with downstairs tap on and no water comes out. Is that likely to be a 15mm pipe? Don't want to dismantle then find wrong size. This house!!!!

    Replacing bath - water connections

Scrapped all the soil out to find set concrete. Checked a neighbours and couldn't get down to tap on hers. They dug the street up a while ago for new houses opposite, hence black tarmac on what was red street. Looks like they've filled mine up when they reset the stopcock

    Replacing bath - water connections

It's about a quarter flow. If I leave downstairs and basin tap on upstairs I might get away with it. Just checked stopcock in street. I'm bewildered. It's filled with concrete!!!!!
