Can't google it as cannot define it. It is not wallpaper in that it has no seams and no paper. It has been put straight onto the plaster. It is slightly textured to look at. Using a steamer makes it gooey and slightly easier to scrape off. It looks like a coating, with no layers or backing...

Does one use the same silicone for between bath panel and floor? Also, any tips as my last lot went dry, cracked and mouldy simultaneously. I don't know if I'm putting too much on. Children splash so floor gets wet!

There is firm fixing behind UPVC but there is a good 10mm gap as this is just surround trim (whatever the right phrase is) rather than the actual window frame. So curtain pole screws have to go through UPVC, through 10mm of air and then into wall behind.

I have UPVC window frames with very wide UPVC trim frames extending to the ceiling. Therefore in order to put up curtain poles I will have to drill throught the UPVC surround in order to fix the curtain poles through the UPVC to the wall behind. What type of drill bit is best on UPVC...

The heating is not working at all. The hot water works but goes very cold after a short time. There's a little button inside the boiler that I press and can sometimes gain a little more hot water. It's a combi boiler I know there's a flexible metal pipe that you can connect to the two bottom...

Just to say, thank you for your advice. I will have a go, get a quote for new motor, and probably end up buying a new one anyway but at least I know what's going on.

Thanks for that. They were not HP brushes. How difficult is it to clean the motor?

I bought the machine second hand (reconditioned) 2 years ago. The carbon brushes were replaced last year. This year the kitchen was rewired, the WM put on RCD and it trips out during its final spin. I have been arguing with electricians over whose fault it is - their wiring or the washing...
