Hi I am replacing a concrete lintel above a garage door on a 9" wall. It was shuttered and poured in situ, and therefore the concrete is stuck to the headers on the outer skin, holding the bricks in place. now when i take the concrete out i will also have to remove the headers. i cannot put...

Rubber roof and dormer falls back to the ridge

Thanks for your responses. Already had the rubber roof lining put on. that would be the very last resort. The water flow is not a problem, it just now goes down the front. My concern is trying to get my ridge back on. A dry ridge would allow the water to pass underneath, but it is attaching...

solenoid valve assembly for dolphin 1000 shower

here is a pic of the inside of the cover. i have just sniffed around the inside the shower and you may be righgt about the switch. the smell seems to be coming from a part of the left, which is the on off switch. //media.diynot.com/136000_135089_55771_55278967_thumb.jpg out now[/img]

solenoid valve assembly for dolphin 1000 shower

    Help!! Damp plaster falling off

and am i right in thinking that the painted render which has been put on the outside brickwork half way up the wall is more likely to keep the damp in than moisture out? If this is the case would it then be pointless using lime without first taking the render off as the wall will not be...

    Help!! Damp plaster falling off

and what is the best way to fix them? i take it this will prevent the damp wall problems not merely hide them? I will be putting a dehumidifier in there to remove damp beforehand

    Insulated plasterboards

I will also be waiting with baited breath on the outcome of this as I could do with understanding a bit about the fixing of these boards as i dont want to stud it if possible due to the narrowness of the hall already

    Help!! Damp plaster falling off

I didn't really have much choice taking the plaster off as it was falling off anyway. would any plasterer be happy to use these lime based plasters? If I was to go down the route of insulating boarding it what membrane would i use and would this go underneath the wooden battens? money...
