Random and diminishing,random widths and diminish as they go up the roof.I have stripped a roof of and the slates were fixed with a mixture of wooden pegs and bones but these were the big sandstone slates(lazenby slate).

Indeed flooding a roof with bitumin in some cases can stop the ponding(done it before) but the only problem in this instance would be you would need so much bitumin the weight of all that bitumin may just cause the roof to dip in no time at all.You could then be back at square one.

Sound advice,i would add that if using top spec flet two layers will be sufficiant.

Spar feet=joist ends,what you fascia nails into,just make sure it solid.

You may need to remove the bottom course of tile/slate first(if slate best to remove two course).If its tiles and your lucky you MAY just be able to push the bottom course up under the second course.Alot easier with two men and yes you need scaffold for such a job.PVC fascia you want the 18mm...
