Anyone in favour of Nationalisation of utilities?

Tories will probably nationalise it buying back the mess created after all profits have been exhausted without any updating and falling apart. They will then spend millions of money updating and then hand it back to the private sector mate from the pub. Will labour do much better, well they...

Anyone in favour of Nationalisation of utilities?

Should never have been privatised in the first place. Corrupt government then, and even worse now.

Instantaneous water heaters corroding/leaking after a few months

you can replace with any equivalent water heater, but this may mean some change to pipe work, and poss cabling. From the comments of neutral cable changeing, this sounds likely to be overheating. This may be a loose terminal or undersized cabling. Check the cable size is suitable for the KW you...

    Ideal Logic Heat 15 standard condensing not a combi - Intermittent F2 / L2

Hello Meldrews I note your in Bucks, where abouts as lots of people on this site make all sorts of accusations and talk nonsense. The persons used was Ideal, they were also the ones stumped, this resulted in them comming to the conclusion the Heat exchanger had gone and wrote the boiler off...

Which Boiler recommended for quality and physical size

Can the Gas Safe engineers let me know (not the favourite boiler) but the best boiler for quality, reliable, and physical size. It is for a replacement FE system with approx 4 single rads, 3 double rads, 2 large towel rails. It also needs to be very compact no more than 400 x 300 max and flue is...

    Ideal logic Heat15 issue

The problem came after system was cleaned, drained, and the inhibitor added. I thought the pump may have been weak prior, so changed that after, but it clearly wasnt.

    Ideal logic Heat15 issue

I am aware it is a flame loss fault code. I am relatively familiar with the boiler as I have seen Ideal & other engineers working on it over the years. There is very little inside and some of which the main parts have been changed including Valve, Burner, flame sensor, ignitor. What was weird is...

    Ideal logic Heat15 issue

So system seemed to be playing up a little cycling on and off with occasional f2 or l2. I decided to drain down, add cleaner F3 and rand for 4 days, drained down ran through until clear and added F1. Approx a week has now passed and now boiler is pretty much non functional with F2 or L2...

If replacing a boiler, what would you fit?

so far as I understand pretty much all modern boilers are crap. 10 year life span is considered good. Worst thing i did was have a new boiler 7 years ago. You ask 3 differnet installers, you will likely get 3 different answers. They will likely recommend ehat they install or are familiar with...

    Alarm Curiosity

In that period there were a lot of, and probably still is a lot of Crap PIR detectors. These were unreliable and had crap fronts where bugs would move inside the sensors. An alarm is only as good as the equipment and the installer.

    Heating - Warm Header tank

When weather is cold, one rad downstairs struggles, and its the newest one. If the pump isnt on full, it does not always get hot when both water and heating is calling. Its ok if water isnt calling. Does that make more sense

    Heating - Warm Header tank

So far nothing up the vent pipe, but it is getting warmer. The 15mm feed pipe is very warm actually hot. I noticed as soon as hot water was turned of, the spread of heat up those two pipes raised in temperature quickly especiall the feed pipe which does look to be going back into the header at...

    Heating - Warm Header tank

I will have to check but i presume some water had come out as it was warm and it is not touching the water, the tank was emptied out and I wiped it all out, but it does look a little frotty in there already so presume it has been comming back through the pipe. I will check the vent into the...

    Heating - Warm Header tank

Hello I have drained system down just to have a clean, put a cleaner in last night and filled again. I have noticed the header is getting warm and the pipe obviously up to it. The pump is a Grundfoss Apha 2 and I have played with the various setting hoping to reduce energy. On auto it never...
