Adding single radiator to existing gas combi CH system

Boiler in garage, which is only 'room' on ground floor apart from entryway and stairs. Flow and return pipes disappear into brickwork next to boiler, with half a dozen rads at first floor, and five at second floor with two rad-style towel rails. No sign of a manifold anywhere. The radiator...

Smart Meter Engineer says I must pay an electrician to move my current smart meter outside before it can be replaced

If you don't actually WANT a smart meter, and the only reason you're getting one is because your supplier is pushing it, then don't.

Determining rating needed for oil-filled radiator

Our house is built into the side of a hill, and at ground level to the front we have a downstairs hallway with front door, and access to the garage via an internal door. All other accommodation at one and two floors up. The original builders didn't fit a radiator down there, and for years we've...

Has anyone installed a bosch Series 4 HBS573BS0B recently?

There's life behind Bosch's Whatsapp customer support, once you get past the automated response and wait 2 hours for a reply; "Hi, we aim to respond to each message within 2 hours. Model HBS573BS0B is a 13 amp 2.99kw appliance. We can confirm that a B/S/H/ appliance under 3Kw can be fitted...

Has anyone installed a bosch Series 4 HBS573BS0B recently?

OH is just back with a photo of the info plate on the existing oven, a Creda 48149V - that plate says it's rated at 5.2kW at 240v, and 4.8kW at 230v, which seems like WAY too much for a single 13A plug and socket. Yikes. To add to the issue, I've yet to establish if there's any other sockets...

Has anyone installed a bosch Series 4 HBS573BS0B recently?

If they get a dedicated cooker cable run from the consumer unit, and a 20 amp (?) double pole switch at the oven end of the cable, can the switch go in the adjacent kitchen cabinet, or does it have to be accessible above the worktop? In the cupboard would be much easier.

At the Bosch website, they show a plug-in cable with a bare wire at the power supply end, and the installation instructions suggest that a longer cable is available as a spare .... and the spare cable appears to be standard flex ..

Asking for the in-laws. Their current oven is plugged into a standard UK 3-pin socket. They're looking to replace it, and we're struggling to get a definite answer, either from John Lewis, the retailer with it at sale price at the moment, or from the Bosch online installation instructions...

    Central heating pipe hammer noise

Elderly in-laws had CH serviced recently, and since then, the system has been making intermittent pipe noise - a low drone, lasting for about 15 seconds or so at a time. It's difficult to pin down an exact source of the noise, but they tell me it seems focused on one radiator, although it can...

Any underfloor heating installers here, familiar with JG Speedfit installations?

Thanks all; solution was to re-pair the room control panels to the central control unit; unbeknownst to me, the owner had reset the system in some manner, resulting in all the wifi links being lost.

Any underfloor heating installers here, familiar with JG Speedfit installations?

Owner feels that UFH is not heating the place at all. The central manifold installation is built primarily with JG Speedfit components; there are two separate manifolds, each with their own pump and what I gather is a blending valve. The pump and blending valve assembly is very similar to...
