    Process for dealing with moss

My garden is horrific this year. Is this process right: 1) Put down moss killer (I usually use something like Evergreen 4 in 1) 2) Wait a week. 3) Scarify then rake the dead moss out and take to the tip. I have one of these for the last bit...

Painter spilt paint on new carpet :(

Day one of five day painting and decorating job and I've just found a large paint spill on a new carpet. Very light grey emulsion on a dark brown carpet :( A bit disappointed that nobody has said anything (they've done a poor job at trying to clean it). How should I handle this? They've been a...

    SOLVED! Lawnmower mulching plug disappeared?

I FOUND IT!! I chucked the grass cuttings over the wall into the field - when I went and checked there it was! I'm not going mad after all ;)

    SOLVED! Lawnmower mulching plug disappeared?

Similar to that yeah. That’s all I can think happened but I’m still dumbfounded!

    SOLVED! Lawnmower mulching plug disappeared?

I suddenly noticed today that the bag on my Mountfield SP185 lawnmower was filling up. It looks like the mulching plug has disappeared? Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm absolutely baffled. It's been fine for two years. Might it have disintegrated? Or been stolen? Help I'm going mad!

    ASHP - hot water temperature?

Thanks both - will check back with the electrician/plumber and see what they say. Does sound like the immersion is on permanently.

    ASHP - hot water temperature?

Cheers muggles. Interestingly right now it's at 58° and still seems to be heating? How can I check the immersion heater isn't permanently on?

    ASHP - hot water temperature?

I have a new ASHP which is working well but the hot water is VERY hot! The installer says it should normally be set to 55° but as I live alone said he would put it at 50° to save some money. Could I reduce it to 45° without causing any issues? It's MUCH hotter than the old combi boiler and...

NEW Air Source Heat Pump - house is cold :(

Interestingly I've just turned the radiators in the two bedrooms right down and now the remaining rads are feeling much warmer all over. What might this mean?

    Replacing fluorescent light

Thanks that does look a better option. I did this today using a round junction box and it doesn’t feel great. Sure it won’t kill anyone but will change it at some point ;)

NEW Air Source Heat Pump - house is cold :(

Yes they did a thorough survey. All new rads too. Temp is currently 17 and it’s so cold. I’ll be happy with early 20’s! Flow temp is 36.

NEW Air Source Heat Pump - house is cold :(

Yep they were really good to be fair. I'll give it a few more days then have a chat with them.

NEW Air Source Heat Pump - house is cold :(

I live in an old property. I've had internal wall and loft insulation installed. I've had a new ASHP installed last week and my biggest fear seems to be coming true. The house is just really cold. The radiators are warm at the bottom but mostly cold. The temperature in the house won't get above...

    Replacing fluorescent light

I want to swap out an old 2ft fluorescent tube lamp in a wardrobe for a modern LED light (https://www.screwfix.com/p/reeve-twin-2ft-led-batten-18w-1650lm-220-240v/960pp) The new light has a cable attached with just two wires. Am I ok just buying something like this...

    Is this scrap worth anything?!

Just had a new central heating system fitted and have this left over. Plumber said he’d take it away tomorrow but neighbour said I should take it to a scrap place for cash. Any idea how much it might be worth? Can’t be bothered for a tenner but £50+ might be worth it! Do I have to do anything...

Do these new rads look cheap?!

No pretty much the same. It's just the old ones seem to have double 'v's inside where as the new ones only have single 'v's - I'm certain there's better terminology!
