What Happens If I Deviate From My Plans?

Nice idea. Unfortunately there is a massive concrete slab from the old garage, which to remove would be a tidy sum just in skips

What Happens If I Deviate From My Plans?

I've removed it from the plans. The neighbours don't mind. Do they generally come and have a look on completion? Thanks

Help! Extension not compliant with planning permission

Sounds like someone has complained. Planning generally don't drive around looking into people's gardens unless notified. Did you inform them when you finished? If not, that may be another reason they've been sniffing around. Has it affected your neighbours? I applied to do a 3m permitted...

What Happens If I Deviate From My Plans?

I am planning a log cabin build in the garden. Because I am within 2m of the boundary and I want to go 1/2m over 2.5m permitted development I have applied for planning permission. They asked me to remove an additional lean-to I had at the rear, as well as decking at the front and a 1m canopy. I...

    Extending Extension Building Regulations

Thank you very much for your help. The idea is to use a timber frame, celotex and render to extend further - length ways only - into the garden, putting it level with my neighbours. My neighbours extension is right next to it (14cm distance), but his foundations are to the deeper 1m depth...

How many Hinge Bolts on Stable Door

Normally you would use 2 hinge bolts on a door, but should I use 2 on the top & 2 on the bottom on an outward opening stable door? Thanks

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

Just to update you all. He came back and replaced a few tiles. I gave him the list of faults, and he said scaffolding would come. After 3 weeks it didn't, so I sent him a letter telling him to make good or I would pursue legal action after the 26/11/10. He came round today and told me...

I want to stain a new exterior timber front & back door. Just wondered if I should do a name brand like Sadolin, or just go for Wickes? Many thanks

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

I've given him a list and he is coming next week 1) He is re-doing valley with wider lead flashing 2) Adding sufficient flashing to the chimney area 3) Relaying the ridge that adjoins my neighbours property that doesn't look like it has a sufficient bed of mortar 4) replacing all tiles...

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

He believes it's broken channels on the tiles

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

The old ones were crumbling, and I said I wanted Redland 49 because I liked the look. It is only a small roof

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

It had smaller tiles on before. Roofer said the joists would be okay.

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

Had an independent roofer come round to have a look at it today. He said the overlap was fine, but a few points he mentioned was 1) Flashing round chimney was insufficient to stop wind blowing rain in 2) Flashing down valley was only 12" wide which he said left some tile joints uncovered...

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

Can anyone let me know if the flashing by the chimney is sufficient in the above picture. Is it okay to have that gap there? Thanks

Aaah, New Roof Leaking. Can't Understand Why!

Bit concerned flashing round the chimney has left a bit of a hole. Doesn't look protected enough to stop heavy rain. Some valley pics just to have a look. There is some cracking on the mortar at the edge, but maybe this is normal?
