    Cracked Tile In Shower

Thanks John, it's about halfway up the shower where the hose goes into the wall - just a shame it's at the end where the shower head is and not the opposite end! I've messaged a tiler as i have spare tiles in the garage & also a cosmetic fixer to see what they recommend as I can't tell if it's...

    Cracked Tile In Shower

Hi, just noticed this crack in one of the tiles in my shower. Not sure if it would have been there since installation 6 years ago or if these things can just happen? It's in an awkward place to replace and I've put a bit of clear silicone over it. Is there anything else you would recommend...

    Inline Fan leaking

Another annoying thing is the person who installed the 1st inline fan made a 6 inch hole in bathroom ceiling and used a reducer to attach to 4 inch ducting so I'll need to get a plasterer in to fix the hole if we go back to an axial fan on the ceiling. Not just a straight swap over. Hope you...

    Inline Fan leaking

That's really interesting, thanks for the info. I definitely think it's a design flaw with the seams. Why they don't have some sort of rubber gasket escapes me. Do they mean put silicone on the outside of the casing? A few people have suggested not opening the window but our ensuite is small...

    Inline Fan leaking

No joy I'm afraid. Had the fan replaced by a stronger model, covered the insulated ducting in loft insulation and it's leaked from day one! Couldn't make it up. Again leaking from joins/seams in fan body. Called electrician after he left & he reckons its condensation & to leave it till the...

    Weep hole vent

Noticed weep hole was actually damp to touch today. Back into the loft but nothing obvious. Haven't had rain for a couple of weeks but temperatures are low (around 1 degrees today but was -3 last night). Could it be condensation? Very puzzling.

    Inline Fan leaking

Just out of curiosity if you were using rigid pipe would you insulate it too? I've seen people mention covering it in insulated flexi hose.

    Inline Fan leaking

Thanks John, nice to hear from you again. Moving it to the right sounds good but not sure how that would work due to where the ducting comes out of the ceiling? Thanks Murdochcat. The bathroom is fully tiled so can be quite cold unfortunately.

    Inline Fan leaking

Thanks for all your advice. Would it be worth me getting the electrician to swap the white flexi duct at the outlet side of the fan for insulated flexi ducting as I have some spare?

There's a heated towel rail in the room.

    Inline Fan leaking

Actually tempted to go back to an Axial fan - the silent tornado seems to get good reviews

    Inline Fan leaking

Oh I thought I was doing a good thing having the window open to prevent mould etc

    Inline Fan leaking

Fan currently runs an extra 16 mins - what would you recommend? Bathroom window is always open for showers as it's a small room and steams up quickly. Can you explain in technical terms what you thinks happening re the condensation so I can understand it better? Thanks

From the body casing (see 1st post) thanks

    Inline Fan leaking

Sorry, should have said the flexi hose usually does have the rock wool over it (as in 1st photo) - I just pulled it back for the photo. Not sure what to do now as don't want to use the fan with it leaking.

    Inline Fan leaking

This is the existing set up. Not sure if the insulated ducting should be shorter/more direct to the fan? Note the flexi duct snakes off to a grille in soffit on the right hand side - not sure if it would be better to put another grille in to the left so it just slopes directly down from the fan?
