natural slates are better then man mades(eternit) when stripping a roof you get quite alot of broken slates and the roofer would have to get more out of his own pocket .costing about£1 each one .although there old with new felt battens lead your roof would be top notch .i would put new ridge...

put some plastering sand in with the soft it goes off alot harder

which do u prefer tiles /plain or 49s .or slates natural or man mades to me my favorite roof is farmhouse red plain tiles what do you think? which colors and which color ridge to go with them?
