    New roughcasting cracking, please help!!

After reading the whole story, my advice to you is to allow the plasterer to remedy his work before you go any further, contract law is a very grey area. Now if I had done some work and in the unlikely event it failed, before being threatened with legal action etc i would and should (under...

    New roughcasting cracking, please help!!

Before and after pics, if the cracks are structural then you don't have a leg. If walls were sound, could have been a much stronger mix on the dash than the scratch. I'll keep an eye on this post

get him to send you out a set of scale drawings for each type of house/unit etc. buy yourself a scale rule and price it before you start, then you can set yourself how long it will take you to earn your expected day rate. plus big firms employ a qs, their job is to knock you m2 down, if...

first time with a big firm on me tod

I would say 95% of my work is based on £'s per m2 yes you can get little jobs (airing cupboards, wardrobes) but the big stuff evens them out. £3.00 per m2 on skim is on the light side but once you get in to it mate, you will never do day work again. Plus it makes you a lazy gentelman.(keeping...

    Any chance.........

If you get to read millars book, plasterers were concidered middle class not working class. Now skimmers are thought of as the scum of the building trade. What happenened? we should go back to wearing a shirt and tie, bowler hat (hard hat) and a nice pair of overalls. Henry ( jeff ortons son)...
