i found a few products that say they will allow you to achieve a thin screed, http://www.ultra-floor.co.uk/product.jsp?productID=23, is by far the most cost effective so far. larsen have a product called slc2000 but it requires a top resin coat, and ardex do k301 which is prohibitively expensive.
