gas appliance installation regulations and nhbc

only thoughts are by the looks obviously the boilers been fitted prior to the kitchen being thrown in infront of it to make it neat. If theres any gap between the cupboard and front of the case it will still be possible to get the case removed if not you'd need to get the obstruction removed...

    Pressure relief pipework

its an unsafe plumbing defect so wont be covered by any gas reg, and as its not a gas reg you'd be quite right to try and rectify it yourself if you wanted to. renew whats done in plastic with copper and easier for yourself to use compression fittings, once out in the garden put 2 elbows to...

    servicing woes

nothing much else to add, as a homecare customer each year you renew your contract your entitled to a safety check which is like an MOT rather than service on your boiler. If your glowworm wasnt suitable to only just have combustion checks to assertain if its safe or not the engineer would be...

Vokera Compact 28 red light problems

it could be a number of things, Usually without any indication or it doing it while present you'd go down a process of elimination, changing both central heating and hot water sensors, do u you know if both were done? after that its quite common for the ignition pcb to go faulty then the most...

    Ideal Icos HE24

id leave it, its probably a circulation/balancing/boiler too high an output issue but if theres no faults and its operating correctly id forget it. What size of pipes do you have at the radiators? im guessing this is an open vent system with tanks in the loft and it hasnt been pressurised...

    vokera compact he

first thing would be to checl the resistance in the sensors even if the resistance is ok it sounds like the sensors faulty on the ch side though could be something else as your pump shouldnt run when the HW's called for Ray

SIME 100c Format boiler .. FAN NOT GETTING ANY POWER

only thing i can think of is the pump flow switch not operating once the pump runs causing no power to fan Ray

Cooker position in relation to boiler and window

if you go by the manufactures specific dimensions it should be ok. As a rule of thumb if the side clearance is >50mm from above units its ok if its within 50mm you'd need the boiler 760mm above. This wouldnt include a cooker with an eyelevel grill and also you'd need a bit of side clearance...

    Baxi 105e Probs

shouldnt be very expensive worst case scenario would be a fan but more than likely to be a simple blockage or sticking switch. a bit vague here as you'll definitly need a RGI to repair as you'll need into the combustion chamber but shouldnt be a difficult/costly repair Ray

    Potterton Performa 24 DHW Issue

what tony ment was if you have the boiler on hot water only does the water heat or do you have the heating running while you turn the tap on. i assume it works when only hw is on and would therefore guess its the main diverter valve that needs replaced as its passing. you could ask your dad...

Isar Ideal intermittent warm water leak

agreed if its anything to do with your hot water and your systems pressures not going down your def paying over the odds for the repair as it can easily be done within an hour (thats generous)

Sounds like possibly a blocked heat exchanger/circulation fault Ray

    vokera syntersi combi problem

yeah would be DP but if i wasnt familiar with my boiler or what sized o ring was needed (if it is that and isnt just choked up) id remove it all together and see how my boiler performed as it looks like there will be a bigger fault with the boiler than a swelled up oring

do plumbers specialise in particular boiler models

Tony etc your missing the point here, poster wants a service done as hes said on another post his boiler is overheating intermitantly else im pretty sure boiler wouldnt be getting a service :P Ray

    Boiler Flue Position

Yeah i agree with Towan most flues unless extensions are involved should now be horizontal as the flue will have been designed to let condensate run back in. i know the ideal isar wants a slight run though so not sure if logics the same? Its all quite sloppy really. How many houses are in the...

do plumbers specialise in particular boiler models

Not really, some boilers do need specialists else the engineer wont know what typical things to be checking with problematic/sophisticated boilers but yours is a nice striaght foward easy service so just look for anyone reputable. The problem you have with your boiler though would need someone...

    alpha cb50 boiler

it could be feasable but to be honest i dont think it will be, a blocked or restricted main heat exchangers probably more likely going to cause a flow/circulation problem but its worth trying. I wouldnt have any confidence in the engineer though, i know hes trying his best and feels embaressed...

    vokera syntersi combi problem

if i had a nackered restrictor not giving me correct HW id sooner get rid of it to see if it repaired the problem than sit with a pathetic flow rate which could be set and adjusted from 3 way valve til its changed without messing about with taps
  20. R

    vokera syntersi combi problem

hi sean u tried flushing the heating system? sounds like your boilers sludged, poor HW flow rate can be repaired, theres a restrictor on the end of the pipe going from the hw flow switch into the heat plate, throw that away and you'll get a better flow rate to check the boilers operation Ray
