Hi looking at the installation instructions for one of these it states that the inhibitor should be placed before the Boiler. Is there any reason it cant be installed (or has anyone tried this) just after the main stop cock therefore protecting all the plumbing from lime-scale? Thanks :-)

Do I need to nail the tile batons at every rafter? also tiles, do I need to nail every tile? (concrete double pan tiles on 18deg pitch) at then roof ends tiles need to be cut in half in order to maintain joint staggering? Thanks :?

theoldun i have 2 hips as the roof goes down the side of my house, juts out a little, then around the back and over an old flat roof extension. hence the two hips. i have a gable at the front. the joining of the celling joists is over the new extension (2.7m span) and over the old...

also another quick question. to join two celling joists together over a wall plate at the middle, would it be best to over lap them by a certain amount and bolt them together with another piece as a packer so they are either side of the rafters at the eaves? thanks again

I have a pitch roof of 20deg and a span of 2.7m. I have used C24 150x50 for rafters and celling joists. (The roof runs down the existing house wall then a small ridge meets two hips.) Do i need to put noggins between rafters and between joists? if so do they need to be 150x50? i obviously...

i am building a roof with two hips. i have got to the 1st hip and i have a choice but i need help. if i put the hipboard from the last rafter (at the ridge) to the corner of the wall it will make an angle of 44deg and therefore the jackrafters on the other side of the hipboard wont line up...

ah, so the ridge board doesn't support the ridge tile so therefore doesn't need to sit proud?
