How to remove a sheared Radiator Valve Insert from a Radiator

Hi, Today i was replacing all of the valves on the central heating system ahead of a re-pipe. All but one were straightforward, but the last one ( isn't it always ) didn't feel like it was tightening up and I snapped it off in the radiator. Is there any easy way of getting it out please, or is...

Bucket Test - Boiler running or not

It's the first one on the system, always been red hot, but recently it just isn't getting hot ( Luke Warm) There is hot water to the TRV, the TRV is ok, I've checked that it is operating. The hot water appears to be entering the rad, but the return never gets hot. I'm therefore assuming that...

Thanks for the reply Flameport. I flushed the system earlier in the year with Fernox, after the system seemed to be slow heating up. I flushed the Fernox out of the system from three different points on the system under pressure for about 40 mins from each point, until the water ran clear...

Using a Power Washer to flush out CH Pipes

How do I actually check the return for flow ? Do I need to switch flow and return, or connect to another return, switch off all the other rads at both ends and see if I can get water through a hose ?

Using a Power Washer to flush out CH Pipes

Yes, It's got a TRV, which I've checked and it appears to be working correctly. I've removed the rad, flushed it and reverse flushed it and there is a good flow to the rad. It's getting hot water to it and there is a good flow, that's why I am assuming that there is a blockage or partial...
