    Laminate clicker assembly paste

Vasaline was my first though, but was hoping there was a more bespoke solution. Not sure if the ingredients will cause swelling or other issues later. Could possibly help with waterproofing the joint though. I'm not keen on gluing in this instance.

How to fill the gap between hearth and floating engineer floor?

I built a wood frame that sits tight to the hearth and on top of the surrounding floor. Frames the hearth nicely.

    Laminate clicker assembly paste

Hi all Had a search but no joy, so hoping someone has some input. I have a 10m2 awkward shaped room to put a floor down in. DIYer. most of the walls have skirting already on and i'd rather not remove it. My final wall does not have a skirting, but has drawers that I can remove to lay. There are...

    Painting bare brick attic wall

Yep, me and my tools got quickly evicted once it was done LOL PVA sealed all the bricks and it all feels well bonded. Thanks, we're chuffed with how its turned out. Even put in some fixed paddle stairs to access it.

    Painting bare brick attic wall

Thanks guys. It cleaned up really well, and as the rest of the room and roof will be white, so we elected to just IPA seal it.

    Loft insulation options???

Thanks. Will take a look. Plenty of ventilation in ours and facing the right way for flow over the top through 50 mm rafter gap. Two big velux top hinge windows already up there, on front one back, so good breeze through in summer, and not restricting head room when open. Thanks

    Loft insulation options???

Hi All I had a bit of a search, but didn't find what i'm after. I'm currently making my loft a bit more usable, not converting as i'd never meet building regs for the stair access as our house configuration plays against us. We're an end of terraced house, so one brick chimney breasted wall...

Grout protection before shower is used

Hi all. Shower tiling and grouting all finished and looking fresh. What should I do to keep it that way? 3 sided shower walls and sliding door. 2 walls are internal, and the external wall I spaced off by 100mm and insulated, so hoping condensation is not an issue. Walls are cement board, SBR...

Engineered wood floor in shower room.

Yeah, if I was buying new it would be a very different choice, but i've got enough flooring to do it twice. And when i say silicone sealed, i mean under the skirting just to stop any water migrating that way, not the expansion gap. Thanks guys

    Painting bare brick attic wall

Hi all We are making our attic more usable, so a bit of tidying needed. The end wall is brick and a bit scruffy. I intend on tidying it up with a view to painting it white as the room needs brightening up. Any tips on how to seal and paint so it doesn’t all start flaking off in a few months...

Engineered wood floor in shower room.

Ahh, sorry for confusion. Yes, it will be floating. The full periphery will be clear silicon sealed as well to stop water ingress. My main concern is water seeping into the floating floor joint and breaking down the PVA, or other adhesive, when people are stepping out of the shower, etc

Engineered wood floor in shower room.

Hi All I had a good search about, but didn't find what I'm after. Apologies if I missed it. I am going to put some engineered wood down in our new shower room. I appreciate it is not the ideal material, but I already have the wood from a previous job. It is 14mm thick total, with a 4mm oak face...

    Shower plumbing dilemma. Please help

Thanks. I had a feeling I might be over thinking it a bit. Should I try and bring the tap outlet as far through the cement board and tiles as I can? The actual shower fitting has quite a long thread on it.

    Shower plumbing dilemma. Please help

I’m trying to sort the rail shower head wall outlet behind cement board before the tiler comes in and it’s doing my head in. I’ve got a wall plate 1/2” bsp outlet that I’ll screw to the wall behind cement boards. It’s not long enough to come through cement board (12mm) and tile (8-10mm) plus...
