    Honeywell CM927 losing signal

OK I have replaced the batteries and will monitor the situation. I just don't want it getting past April and then thinking the relay box may have acquired a fault.

    Honeywell CM927 losing signal

I didn't just assume they were good. I tested them with a battery tester and they read the same as a brand new set of batteries.

    Honeywell CM927 losing signal

Ok fair enough. However as batteries tested ok I am assuming it's not that. So any other possibility?

    Honeywell CM927 losing signal

Yes they are and I checked them using a battery tester. There is also no flashing battery symbol on display to indicate batteries need changing. I would have avoided it too but location of boiler in garage makes it very difficult.

    Honeywell CM927 losing signal

I had this unit fitted last April. However twice in the last few weeks I noticed the heating wasn't on. When I checked the relay box the red led was lit indicating a communication loss. The Room thermostat has not been moved and batteries are fine. Communication test indicates the signal...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

OK just to update. The electrician spent a while going through various tests this morning. Correct voltage was getting through to the battery and correct voltage was coming out of the battery basically but panel wasn't switching to battery power when needed. He was doing various other test...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

By the way I have just had a phone call from the electrician to say that as the battery is showing 11.9v he wants to come back tomorrow morning to check the battery in place and under load conditions. He also wants to check the battery fuse. And No I didn't suggest it.

Alarm going off but can't find out why

So say so in the first place - I'm not a mind reader! I came on here looking for help. If you want to help then fine give me pointers that are useful.

Alarm going off but can't find out why

He might have by now - I haven't spoke to him since he took it away. 6 months. Yes it could. You lose! It has been and new battery doing exactly the same. Unlikely to be two duff batteries. Yes I could but as the system is only 6 months old and I paid good money then, why on...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

I haven't spoke to the electrician since he was out yesterday. He was going to test the battery fully under ,oad conditions. However the new battery is giving the same problems so it's very unlikely that there would be two dodgy batteries. So problem appears to be either battery fuse...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Not that I'm aware of. I wasn't aware there was a fuse. Tried switching off the circuit breaker again after 24 hours, this time with the alarm fully set. Same result - siren sounded when power was cut. When power restored full alarm sounding. After I switched off the alarm - zones 2,3 and...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Update. No further activations for 3 weeks now. Emgineer/electrician came out yesterday and replaced the battery. The original battery was showing as having 13v so not sure it is the battery itself. However I asked him to test what would happen if there had been a small power cut by...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Spoke to the electrician tonight. He's thinking along the lines of voltage spikes too so will bring along a new battery and check out the current one at the same time. I had an Accentua/Optima fitted ofr 20 years which caused no problems at all. Only changed it in April as the keypad on...

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Its an Accenta/Optima control panel. He's an electrician rather than a specific alarm engineer. Don't know if that makes him good or bad.

Alarm going off but can't find out why

I did think about that but nothing switching on at that time.

Alarm going off but can't find out why

Thanks. I have found it very odd that 3 separate zones have been going off together - all with PIRs. yet other zones with door contacts have been unaffected. Could a duff battery cause this?

Alarm going off but can't find out why

No he didn't check the battery - probably because this was a new system installed in April so battery was new then. Can I ask how the battery would be a factor on a mains powered control panel? -I thought the battery was only for backup purposes in the case of a power cut.

Alarm going off but can't find out why

I have had a problem with my alarm since around the end of June. For a few weeks it seemed to be a pattern of one particular zone ( Zone 3) with 2 PIRs causing the alarm to go off. It always seemed to be a Wednesday night around 11:30pm to 12 midnight. Nothing however seemed to be out of...

PIR setting off alarm but can't find out why

The engineer had the two PIRs open these last two weeks to check the wiring and to change the circuit board. It would seem unlikely, although possible I suppose, for a spider to be still there.

PIR setting off alarm but can't find out why

I had a new alarm installed in April of this year. It has 4 PIRs on 3 separate zones plus door contacts on the outer doors. It is not connected to the telephone line at all. At the beginning of July the alarm went off around midnight. It was one of the zones which has one PIR in each of the...
