Guys, I currently have an external light outside my front door with an integrated PIR which works great, but as the path runs along down the side of the house, and now have a lovely new block paving path, i also want to add another light with PIR at the end of the house so that both lights will...

    See-Through Decking Boards

We currently have a raised desking with a pond that goes slightly under the pond by about .5ft, but would like to improve on this and get the pond to run under the decking as far as possible, dependant of desking support structure. Onviously, there's no point in having the pond under the...

Our hallway ceiling has nasty textured ceilings and therefore as we want a smooth finish I have ripped down the old plasterboard & reboarded the ceiling, and will get a man in to skim. Anyway, stupidly, I reboarded brown side visible, even though on the board is says plaster other side. Will...

    Roddable Gully/Trap or Access Hatch?

thats what I was hoping with the wickes gully/trap. I would prefer to buy from wickes as I can see what i am buying and plan it out. Therefore if I added an angled bend on the gully outlet & onto the clay/pvc connector & then run a length of pipe between, that would be acceptable? as this...

    Roddable Gully/Trap or Access Hatch?

    Dreaded blanketweed in the pond!!!

Nitrates wont cause algae alone, phosphates will also contribute. To reduce both you could try dosing vodka, but im getting far to deep into the question after all its only a pond not a marine tank :) I had to clear out my pond last week during the good weather as we had loads of the green...

Next door neighbour..the escalation by mondyman

I had a mate who put up some fencing that encroached on to someone elses boundary, long & short of it, it cost my mate about 15k in damages. I would take the legal route as not only will it annoy the mean old bar-steward next door, but also increase your retirement fund :D

I would also suggest some form of bollard just in case someone forgets the handbrake on the car & gravity does whats its best at.

would i need to pre-seal the bare brick work? and yes, an earth retaining wall with no lining, etc on earth side. I plan to put coping stones along the top of the wall, but there is a break in the wall for steps & therefore to get a nice square edge, do i need to use them steel corner/edging...
