Ecotec plus 831, F53 fault code

Hi all, my 831 has been a little temperamental the last couple of days after a pcb board change. I've read the fault codes and cleared them and the same code comes back, F53. Am I right in thinking this to do with the gas valve? Are these valves repairable by a gas fitter or is it just a swap...

    New control board fitted

Hi all, had a control board go down on my vaillant ecotec plus 831. I fitted a new board today and the boiler came back to life. I was just wondering if I would have to change any settings in the service menu at all due to the new board. Thanks in advance Jim.

Vailliant ecotec plus 831 wont switch on

Hi all, had a call from the wife saying the boiler had switched off (no display/heat or hot water). When I arrived home I checked the usual rcd and boiler fuse and all was OK. The boiler is getting mains feed and I was led to believe that the pcb should have 2 onboard fuses. I found the one near...

Very Loose bricks above front door.

Hi all, I've discovered some loose bricks above my front door. It looks like it's been caused by a bad install of the front door, also the frame of the door is now moving along the top. It looks like the canopy will have to be removed as two coarse are loose. Can someone tell me what is needed...

    Hot tap running luke warm

Thanks for the replies. The boiler is a "vaillant" eco 831. The pipe work is 15mm. I've just checked the flow rate of the hot water and fully open is about 10lpm, it gets very hot when the flow is reduced to about 3.5 - 4 lpm. This was using the onboard diagnostics

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice please. I have a valiant combo boiler and the trouble I'm having is the bath hot tap runs only luke warm unless I turn the flow right down. Would anyone have any suggestions please? Many thanks Jim.

    Shack electrics advise please.

My mate works for a well known electrical supplies company, so probably not as cheap as mates rates, ie most likely a pint down the pub

    Shack electrics advise please.

The shack is about 10 foot away from my brick outhouse. In between is a big gate that is constantly in use with my motorbike and trailer coming in and out with some quite tall objects being in the trailer. The floor is concrete. So having the plug and socket setup would be ideal as I cannot run...

    Shack electrics advise please.

Why can you not use the 32a socket etc setup?

    Shack electrics advise please.

That was the type of setup I was thinking of, from in house cu to the socket, then plug in to run small cu in shack when need. Only a small compressor being used and will probably not use welder as advised.
