Indesit IWC6165 for the scrap heap ??

Hi, could anyone please confirm that it is not possible to replace the bearings within an Indesit IWC6165 washing machine. I just popped the back off of the machine, removed the belt and listened to the drum as I spun it by hand and there is a definate grinding noise (slight slack to the inner...

    Conservatory Base

Thanks again for all the replies, sorry for posting this next question as im aware similar have been posted so many times before but I cant seem to find online calculators that give the same results. Hardcore (crushed type from builders merchants), how much do we need? Internal measurements...

    Conservatory Base

Thanks noseall, do you mean to just bury it within the screed or to cut it away?

    Conservatory Base

The idea was to use it all year round, gone for the Pilk K energy glass, triple poly roof etc. With regards to your last comment this poses another minor question, we had planned for the floors to be level (the 275mm previously mentioned would bring us up to existing floor level).....but we...

    Conservatory Base

Thanks Woody, apart from a slight difference in measurements that was pretty much what I was hoping to do (or believe to be acceptable). So if I lower the current ground level between the footings by 50mm to give me 275mm to DPC I should be Ok? Would you also advise putting 25mm thick...

    Conservatory Base

We started work a few weekends ago on a dwarf wall type conservatory approximately 3m2. After reading several posts on here we opted to dig the foundations to the same depth as the house foundations. Concrete was poured level to base of 3rd brick below exisiting damp course. Outer wall of...

Foundations with two different ground levels

Once again, thanks for the reply. I must admit the idea of retaining the existing wall sounds great, will have to start digging through the drive to check the foundations (what depth am I checking for?). We really cant afford to lose 4 inches in width so some form of internal waterproof render...

Foundations with two different ground levels

Many thanks for your replies so far, the only concern I have with both ideas is that the neighbouring land is concrete which stops approximately 3 inches from the dividing wall. Without removing (and reinstating) the neighbours concrete I cannot see how we could render the face of the wall below...

Foundations with two different ground levels

Firstly I apologise if the answer to this has been posted before but I cant find anything quite the same.. Our exisitng garage is in the back garden and we would like to knock it down and build it upon the drive adjacent to the house (would give us the larger back garden we require and the...

    eletrics ok

Sorry when I read that, I thought you were asking me if your kitchen was on a different circuit to the rest of the downstairs sockets? If you already have two ring mains downstairs, one for the kitchen and one for the rest of the ground floor then yes you can extend the latter into the...

    eletrics ok

Sorry Mick, I think you misunderstood me a little (or I didnt explain it right?). I was saying if all sockets on the ground floor were one circuit (including kitchen). You can break into the ring anywhere but the kitchen (or other special locations) so my point earlier was that two sockets, one...

    eletrics ok

Hi Mick, if you click on the link that Ban All Sheds put in his last post in this thread you will find it pretty helpful. The entire Part P document is online, but it`s 40 something pages long and takes some reading/understanding. In answer to your last questions, Yes you can extend the...

Please can anyone help? Weird tripping problem !!!!

That was my theory as well BJS, Im intrigued as to how the internal connections of the board are done though........Seems strange that the circuits you would not expect to be on the RCCB are next to it and vise versa with the circuits next to the main switch.

Ok Mick, get your hands in the air, and step down of the soapbox.......lol A lot of poeple are in a muddle regarding Part P, and a lot will still be in a years time......there is still a lot of false information flying around to confuse poeple. I will try and explain some of it.........but...

    An electrical puzzle

Crossed ring mains, 1 leg of each in each MCB. End up having to isolate 2 circuits to work on either. God knows what sort of fault would have to occur to trip the MCB`s, get it checked out, sooner rather than later.
