That will give the ze reading i believe and not the resitance value of the earth electrode but correct me if i am wrong

Probably a timer fan so will have switched live from light and a perm live for timer neutral and earth without meter prob brown switch live white perm live blue neutral and green/yellow earth but check first or get someone who knows to check.

yes there is does this make a difference the light is controlled from a dimmer which now thinking about it does vary the voltage i believe.

correct me if i am wrong but a reduced volt drop to me would suggest that there is a series connection somewhere any thoughts please anyone?
