Hello, thanks for the replies. all too tecnical for me. The temperature is read from the halway and basically dictates the general downstairs areas. Are we all agreed that the cm900 range of thermos are decent for the job ....and presumably digital to be more accurate ?

Ive noticed that this only happens when I start from a cold setting and move to lukewarm. However, if i start on hot and move towards lukewarm, there is no vibration. Could this be a pressure or valve thing ?

Yes I will, thanks. I forgot to mention on my last 'post' that the pipe outside the house is dripping. My tenant hadn't noticed because, as far as she was concerned, the boiler is working fine. It was just by luck that I had to visit the house this afternoon and saw the high pressure level
