my glowworm boiler ultimate 50ff not lighting?

To second the above, I have had both these problems over the years. The lead shorted out because it had been nipped by the cover going back on, and was not resting against the foam/sponge (depending on what model you have). The jet would block, depending on how careful our LPG bottle supplier...

thanks for all the help. The outside socket in the shed has a separate RCBO in the CU feeding it, and MCB in water tight box in the shed, before it feeds a socket.

    RCD Tripping

My main RCD is tripping, only when the sockets ring is on, this is regardless of anything being plugged in. It is the a 80a RCD that sits between the meter and CU. There is a 100a RCD plug MCB and RCBO in the CU but none of these trip. Sometimes, the RCD trips as soon as you put the power...

How hard to learn to plaster?

For the 'aboves' benefit, with the cost of housing being fairly obscene, the option of us DIYers using highly skilled tradesmen to renovate/improve our houses does not exist, because of cost. This is regardless of the fact that a better job would help maintain the properties value, it really is...

    Skimming over old plaster

Sorry to hijack your question, but does the 2 coats of PVA also apply to plastering over a very battered painted wall? It is well past the point of just filling and sanding, the previous owners must have moved shelves about a dozen times!

    tiling on fresh plaster

Hi, I have removed loads of old / hollow plaster off the bathroom wall and plan to tile this wall. It's had about a week already, but some of the plaster is up to an inch thick to make wall more level than it was (old stone wall). How long should i wait before tiling? thanks in advance.

    Warmup Underfloor Heating Connection

I have a similar product and believe it needs to be connected via its own circuit breaker, not via your sockets.

Minimum stud thickness to support aquapanel

Having just used aquapanel in a similar position (airing cupboard behind shower fixings), I would think the overall strength is more critical than the actual thickness. If it forms solid frame, plenty of well jointed/ nailed cross noggins, plus secured top and bottom. Not just floating on...

How to fix this bad bathroom wall

I'm only a DIYer myself, currently modernising an old house in the dales and have similar problems. We have gone the distance though, taken off all the shoddy tile, any plaster that was not 100%, removed the bath. Then, set the bath(old cast one) on a supporting frame, plastered the walls...
