    Bubbles in plasterboard...

Previously papered plasterboard, stripped bare and dents and dings filled with polyfilla, then sanded flat to take emulsion. Thinned coat followed by two unthinned coats has lead to the pollyfillered areas bulging slightly and the previously feathered edges raising slightly. I am guessing it...

Tiling directly on UFH cable on Marmox

Not if you buy a suitable product and only just bury the cable. I did this and my floor is lovely and warm and when you tile you won't have the problem of pushing the tile into the adhesive and then having it sitting directly on the cable. PP

    Bathroom design ideas

Cheers Turpin. I agree about seeing it in the flesh, but I am more thinking about overall final look as that is what I can't visualise. Know any good websites? Cheers PP

    Bathroom design ideas

Looking for inspiration for bathroom design. Anyone have any good links to bathroom finishes, other than catalogues? I am not good at 'visualising' finished rooms, but know what I like when I see it! Cheers PP

Oil finish on an internal door?

Thanks oilman I bought these doors because I liked them more than the oak! So I want to finish them to show them in their glory rather than to mimic something I could have bought! Any other thoughts on finish? PP

Oil finish on an internal door?

Simple question. Is Tung oil a suitable finish on a pitch pine internal door? I have finished an oak wash stand in tung oil and it looks great, just wasn't sure if it would be suitable on pitch pine as all the threads I have found only mention oiling oak. Cheers in advance. PP

Does anyone sell 25" wide internal doors?

Try looking here http://www.distinctivedoors.co.uk/frequently_asked_questions.htm The link is to their FAQ and half way down it mentions bespoke size ordering.... I've bought a pitch pine internal door from them and the quality is exceptional. PP

    Making a shower tray.

Dallmer do a huge range of drains. I used one in my wet room and so far it has proved faultless. http://www.dallmer.de/sanitaer/html_gb/index_gb.html can be seen for sale herehttp://www.boundarybathrooms.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_WetFloorDrains.html A normal waste needs to be fitted into a...

    Copper pipe = Curtain Rail!!!!

What about stove enamelling? That's pretty sturdy stuff. Could that be applied to copper? Or powder coating? Not as scratch resistent, but only the 'top' would get rubbed by curtain rings.

    Wet Room

Cheers guys. Been off the forum at work for a while so not been reading! Just waiting for a new door, which is being made by a company in Crewe that deals in reclaimed doors. I wanted the reclaimed look, but my house was built with 27" doors upstairs and they never made them that size years...

    Wet Room

Cheers gcol and William for sorting out the Wiki entry for me and adding pictures. The bog brush looks fine 'in the flesh', trust me! As for a bath, well it is only an ensuite, we have a main bathroom which has a bath. Plus the room is only 1300mm wide and 2500mm long, so a bath would be...

    condensation in wooden double glazing

http://www.glassonweb.com/articles/article/210/ Shows a picture and gives a few explainations on failures. You can just change the units and keep the frames, but you may need new beading if that is damaged. PP

Is there a size limit on posts?

Yeah, wish I'd paid more for the same dust in a more expensive Bal paper sack!! I hear that Bal have increased the price of Dunlop adhesives as they have been so popular, lucky I bought the gear when I did as I believe they are charging Bal prices for it now!! PP

Putting trim between bath and wall tiles.

I'm with gcol on this one. I have owned a number of bathrooms in my time with such strips fixed to 'seal' baths and they always fail eventually. Another problem I have experienced is when bath users put their hands on the bath top to 'lever' themselves to a standing position to get out; if...
