Part P question - qualified but not registered

Thanks for all your replies, I need to go through them. The work is spot lights in a bathroom, and moving a shaver socket. The first spot light will use the existing light fitting, with two more feeding off the same circuit. I believe the shaver socket also comes off the main light fitting.

Part P question - qualified but not registered

A friend is a qualified electrician and has the 2391 Competence/Testing qualification, but is not registered with ELECSA or similar. This is because he doesn't do private work, so it's not worth the cost of joining. My question is, if he does some electrical for me, would he be able to issue a...

    Front door lock 50mm

I need to replace my front door Yale lock, fitted when the house was new. Unfortunately the builders put the barrel hole 50mm (from centre of hole) from the edge of the door and fitted a 40mm lock. The latch just catches the strike plate which was okay, but now it's worn it sometimes slips...

Trevi boost - shower head and hose

Hi, Does anyone know if you have to use Trevi boost shower head and hose or can it be replaced with a reasonable quality alternative? The official head is £36 and the hose £26. Surely all the clever stuff is in the valve unit and the shower head is just a shower head? Many Thanks Martin

    Trevi Boost running cold

For the owners of a Trevi Boost shower, I contacted the manufacturer and they think the problem is with the 'Boost Cartridge'. The good new is the part is guaranteed for 5 years, so they are sending me a new one (I hope). To buy the part is £150 ouch! I will let you know if it solves the...

    Trevi Boost running cold

Hi, I installed a Trevi Boost about 4 years ago and it's ben fine, but recently it's been running cold, even with the temp. on max. I'll admit that it was never steaming hot, but it did the job, but now it's just tepid. Any ideas?

    Sky arial for freeview

Yes I think that's worth a try, maybe Argos so I can take it back if it doesn't work. It's strange that the separate freeview box that I used with the old TV worked fine with the analogue ariel , but not with freeview built into the LCD TV.

    Flush doesn't always stop.

Well, I think it will be better than the one I took out! (Which isn't saying much). Two years time, I could be doing it all again. Thanks for listening.
