    Could you use a swan neck connector it would get you about 3" back or maybe a flexible one from plumb centre they are soft and you could gain more??

    feel the pipes to the radiadtors that are not heating correctly... if one pipe is hot (that is the flow..inlet) and the other is cold... (return..outlet) then I would suspect that they are bloked with sludge..drain down and refill several times use a flushing inhibitor on the last flush.

    So part P is upon us so how are we doing, how many new showers have we fitted? who has contacted us to inform us of what should be done??? We (plumbers) now must tell building control that we are fitting an electric shower so why is it that electricians that fit the same shower do not need...

    So the queen owns the land, then she swears in the government who we voted in who in turn imposes council taxes upon us to pay for the upkeep of the queen and government so we can live in the house we built or bought on the land the queen owns. GET RID OF THEM......(not the houses)

    Plumb Centre (wolseley centres to the trade) are selling sandringham 4 piece suites BUT...the close coupled pan and cistern appear to have been mis-matched, the pan is "lipped" so the 10mm rubber washer does not make a true seal to the cistern. If you install these buy the thick doughnut washer...

    Air admitance valve works to let air into soil system without letting fumes out. Works on pressure differences. Kev is right 550 -600mm above highest outlet is correct , (seen them under a bath before though??)

    So my question is: Can I just take a spur off the cold water tank which serves the hot water system and use this as the cold supply for a power shower.. answer is No. A power shower needs to draw its supply, both hot and cold, from tanks so that it is not subject to problems with mains...

    What system is it combi or gravity fed if gravity fed is the hot water cylinder on the ground floor or upstairs?

    Have you a Combi boiler or gravity fed system? If it is the latter then you may have pin holes in the internal coil in the hot water cylinder?

    1600 is too short 1640 is exact or 1650 with a bit of plaster out!
