    System boiler

Hi. I'm looking to replace a Potterton system boiler. It's an 'Ultra D.V.' It's got a honeywell diverter valve inside the boiler (hence the name D.V. I guess! DUH!) . I don't want to change all the pipework as it's buried in a concrete floor in a flat and there's a megflo in the airing...

Yes they were taking the **** and should have spotted the problem. i don't see how it could effect her plan but I'd be looking for some money from BG for a problem they should have spotted and fixed.

    lifestyle boiler timer

You can often buy a new front for these programmers from a plumbers merchant/heating spares place. The lack of independant control maybe something as simple as a dip switch on rear of programmer or maybe you.ve got an old system that can't run independantly.

    Air in Hot Water System?

Gas, I.ve got a customers boiler doing the same thing, an Ideal Elan 2. Just makes noise on hot water. No air from bleed point so I think maybe the heat x is just scaled up. What do u think?

    Short Flush

Some are adjustable to give different flush quantities such as the dudley duo flush syphon. Remember the old saying 'if all else fails, read the instructions'

Replacing low level WC with close coupled on solid floor?

Have you considered fitting a cabinet with concealed cistern and a back to wall (or cabinet!) toilet. Sometimes this saves moving the poo pipe.

    Checking my water pressure

You can buy a pressure gauge which screws onto an outside tap or theres another type which pushes onto a kitchen sink tap. Cost about 15 quid. Go to plumbing merchant as the diy shops don't have em.

Invensys Lifestyle 522 Programmer - link needed

You can buy these programmers from Travic Perkins for about £30 branded under a different name but exactly the same unit. It sounds like this unit was never installed correctly in the first place.

    Copper vs plastic pipes

Yeah its more expensive but if installed right will be a pucka job. Most plastic stuff I've seen installed has been lashed in.

    Copper vs plastic pipes

Another problem with plastic is the restriction in the flow caused by pipe inserts. Copper has stood the test of time!

    Wocester Bosch Thermostat

Why not fit the DT20 RF kit. Plug the programmer into front of boiler. Screw digistat to wall. Comission. Finish. Takes about 15 minutes. Costs about £110

    Corgi registration

Sounds dodgy to me. I would be only to pleased to flash someone my credentials to reassure them and help get the job. If you do get a number from him then you can verify it by calling Corgi customer services.

Baxi Solo Click off after main gas ignition

I'm just a bit concerned cos if you try turning adjustment screws and dont set the boiler to the right pressure it leads to incorrect combustion, carbon monoxide, death and destruction.

Baxi Solo Click off after main gas ignition

If you've gotta ask a question like that then it sounds like your not Corgi. Could be a slightly blocked injector of pilot tube. Poor gas pressure. Best left to someone with the right knowledge and equipment.
