    electric combi boiler query

Anyone got any information on electric combi boilers? A plumber had a look at this recently and said all was ok with it, but there is a constant flow of cold water from the discharge pipe that appears to go to a drain via an air break. The maker is Redring and its 5 or 6 years old. I...

Transformer problems with Low Voltage Lighting

Sorry thats me , you said low voltage lighting, strickly speaking you are referring to mains voltage, (IE 230V). Did you actually mean ELV. As you mention transformers I assume you mean ELV and as click-sure states we need more info. So to coin a phrase: The balls in your court...

Hmm. I think the point has been missed. The wiring was installed about 7 years ago and screw would have been driven in a month or so later. Just an example of expansion and contraction

Adding a permanent socket which plugs into another socket

To the original poster, stand by this could take some time. In the interim plug in your multi point wandering lead and connect your light or whatever and just for the record you probably wont get any electrician to certify your work, I would'nt. It's only a temporary supply isn't it.

    fused spur with socket

It's safe but not OK as a washing machine and tumble drier used together will probably blow the fuse in the FCU.

Took a couple of hours to find the fault. Anyone like to guess how long it took for the fault to show up (RCD tripping) from original installation.? Suprised me!

    GU10 lamp exploding !!!

Good point ellal but, with regard to price they are not that cheap. Several places sell them and after they add their mark up the average buyer will think they are good value for money as they are 50p cheaper than down the road. Someone making a pot of money out of this because it not just...

    GU10 lamp exploding !!!

I can only speak for myself. It occurred during September last year they had been on for around an hour or more ther was no splash of water no sudden rush of cold air and poltergeists played no part in this I put it down to plain old sloppy manufacturing. The manufacturer of these...

I wonder if it's RCD protected?

Perhaps one the Mods can delete the thread, unfortunately I can't. A poster stated it had appeared a couple of weeks ago and as it was emailed to me I had no way of knowing. If you really want to see it. Clearly staged.
