Hi all, I need to swap this TRV head over but google isn't helping. Anyone know if Solar is a make or model?

    Work Management Software

Does anyone here use Work Management Software? Something to log jobs on, dispatch to subbies, invoice etc? I've been using Fleetmatics WORK but it's awful. Very slow and buggy. I'd love to be able to use a single piece of software to log jobs, purchases, suppliers, customers and invoice...

    Non-Payment

I did an emergency plumbing job for a national nursing home company in November. I was called out of the blue, but attended and carried out the work then issued the invoice. After sending the invoice again a few times and being ignored I sent a final demand letter via signed delivery and...

    Non-concussive taps

Hi All, We've just secured a contract to look after a big school. We've already got a dozen other commercial sites we look after, and they all use push button (non-concussive taps) in the toilets. Trouble is, I've never found a decent tap that doesn't cause me headaches (usually they're...

    Rusted Threads

Hi All, I don't have a picture unfortunately, but is there any way of cleaning badly rusted threads (protruding from a concrete base). Theyre approx M16 so they're pretty meaty. Shot blasting?

    Makita Star

I can't get the new batteries to fit the non-star tools. How do you get yours to fit? Also I spoke to Makita about my predicament and they told me to jog on.

    Makita Star

All of my power tools are Makita made (LXT). I run all off two 3ah batteries. After looking into upgrading the batteries to 5ah I've now discovered that the tools must have a star on the battery terminals in order to be compatible. Turns out alot of my tools don't have the star (including...

    Washing Machine Hose Connection

Hi All, I'm trying to connect a flexible washing machine waste hose to a spigot on a P Trap. Unfortunately the hose had already been cut, so we've lost the smooth end (onto which the jubilee clip usually bites down on). I'm just left with the ribbed hose, and despite having a jubilee clip...

    Outdoor Laser

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a unit that can provide a really bright line guide for use out doors but also can be used at floor level to get an idea of the fall on a floor?

    Pavers on a flat roof

No, as I said in the OP, it's concrete slabs.

    Pavers on a flat roof

No I haven't done anything yet. The insulation / EPDM is already down, it's been down for 10 years. The EPDM skins are loose by the looks of it and not bonded to each other or the insulation. I'm trying to ascertain a cost effective way of protecting the ply I intend to spread the load...

    Pavers on a flat roof

Thanks for the reply. The existing flat roof has been down for 10 years. It's concrete slabs, then insulation, then 2 EPDM skins. There's currently decking ontop of the EPDM which is causing all sorts of problems (mainly the joists acting as a dam for drainage water).

    Pavers on a flat roof

Hi All, I'm going to be laying paving slabs on a support system (ie Caro / Wallbarn) on top of a flat roof. The roof is strong enough to support the weight (steel beams and concrete slabs). The existing flat roof is made up of 50mm hard foam insulation and 2 layers of EPDM. We intend to...
