Got it, snapped all the extraneous plastic off the thing, then was finally able to unscrew the bit that was left - allowing me to achieve my goal of loosely refitting it until tomorrow rather than having to tie the overflow pipe up with string! (yes, I should have bought the waste kit first....)...
Steel enamel bath, plastic overflow with brass effect bit on the front. Think I might just cut it off, but it'd be easier to do this if I could get it undone just a little bit, don't think wd40 will make much odds on plastic though!
AVG 8.0 is junk - they failed to listen to any complaints from the many beta testers (self included) and have completely messed up cookie handling in IE7 - even when you disable the browser plugin some sites such as our rev gen site at work and egg Money just won't work properly - even if you...
OK, so I can get the screw undone for the main waste at the bottom (cracked it off, did it back up tight, filled bath, checked for leaks) but I can't change the waste properly until I get this bleedin overflow off. I've managed to crack the silicone off it with some stilsons (so now it's gotta...
I'd just replace the quad LNB with a new one pointing in around the right direction, and use the signal meter in the menu on the box to tweak it once pointing about the right way (hint, your neighbours ones will be pointing in generally the right direction!) - less than 65 quid!
Doing it on a computer is cheating - who's to say you didn't just write it once, copy and paste, copy and paste, copy and paste etc. ie. 1,2,4,8...1024 and delete 24 of them (or some other iterative method that may or may not be quicker) 8)
What outgoing calls have you tried?
Have you tried calling 150 and seeing what happens. If this works, try using the prefix 1280 to force your call to be routed over the BT network, and see if you can call out then - if this works, and you still can't make outgoing calls without the prefix...
So you don't have a separate one for the kitchen? In this case, are the washing machine, tumble dryer etc. on the ground floor, also running off these sockets? What other large items do you have on the ground floor that might be running at the same time as the oven etc. What about the fridge...
You can just plug it in using a 13 amp plug, it draws around 12 amps so will be fine. You should probably check the size of the protective device on the kitchen sockets first though, as you might look like a bit of an idiot if it's a 20 amp radial circuit and you put the dishwasher and kettle on...
What is the ruling on sockets in cupboards? I'd have thought you'd still need the isolation above, but could be wrong. There's one in my kitchen cupboard powering the spark ignitor on the hob, always been there though!
