    NHS and prescriptions

If anyone is wondering I will share. I don't want to because its a bit embarrassing (for my pal) but for others that might come across it. My pal............ contracted Scabies. He does not know how but he did. No one has slept in his bed for 2 years. The only thing he can think of he has been...

    NHS and prescriptions

Not in Scotland apparently. Once sent electronically to a particular pharmacy (since covid) it is locked to that pharamcy. I think they were trying to reduce traffic to the practice. There is now no paper copy. I used to pick up the paper copy from my practice but now it goes direct to your...

    NHS and prescriptions

Not posted on here for a while but wanted to get an opinion on the below before I receive a phone call at some point. I wont go into specifics because its irrelevant. What do you think of this scenario folks. Called "out of hours" non emergency service in Scotland on Saturday evening because I...

    Tiled roof maintenance

I have recently had dry ridge, dry verge and soffit etc. Upon inspection there was a very thick covering of moss over most of the roof. I decided to jet wash it clean, I know I should not have but after 40 years the tile coating was long gone anyway. Now I basically have bear concrete tiles. Is...

MCD and RCD tripping at the same time

My induction hob required a dedicated 32A supply. Is yours just on the same circuit at the rest of the kitchen?

    Worth installing Heat Pump?

Totally agree with everything you have said Flameport. But if you look at the link I posted to the OPs plans its like leaving the freezer door open to cool your kitchen in the summer. I just think heating a room with all of that heat loss is a bad idea open to the main living area heated by...

    Worth installing Heat Pump?

Looking at your other thread I think its the modern name for a conservatory. https://www.diynot.com/diy/attachments/orangery-for-forum-jpg.247716/ The amount of glazing will be a massive heat loss in winter if it is fully open to your main home. Would you not consider a double glazed dividing...

Will a wall hung toilet fit?

Unless that is a brick or block wall you will need to build a substantial frame for wall hung. Then box it all in obviously. See this thread for how I accomplished it. Wall hung toilet on paramount board | DIYnot Forums

Can anyone identify this Planer Thicknesser?

The problem with the washing machine motor we tried was the wiring complexity. I had 2 red and 3 black connections and was rated at 400w. I am guessing the complexity was to do with speed control. The drill performance is known and seemed like an easier solution. Yes, 3000 rpm is the no load speed.

Can anyone identify this Planer Thicknesser?

After struggling to get a motor he decided to bodge it. At £15 good enough for occasional use I think. The cutting speed it a bit lower than recommended but he can just ease up on the feed rate, It appears to work adequately for now. My only concern currently is the axial load on the drills...

Can anyone identify this Planer Thicknesser?

I have more information now and its not looking good. After looking around on the internet this is going to be difficult to source. Might be better just to buy something like this and fudge it somehow. Buy Challenge Corded Impact Drill - 500W | Drills | Argos

Free stuff I want to get rid of

I have posted stuff on Free bay in the past. A lot of the time I see my goods then posted on Ebay for profit. Do any of you guys know of a method of getting stuff to people who actually need it or want it without these conmen making money from it? I have a weights bench and free weight's, sit up...

Can anyone identify this Planer Thicknesser?

Thanks for the replies, I will get the required dimension's and do the calculations. Thanks JobAndKnock, I will measure the cut width to judge the kw and report back. 1520m/min is a key bit of required information so thanks for that. I used to be a metal machinist in the 90s so I understand what...

Can anyone identify this Planer Thicknesser?

A friend of mine has bought this old tool without a motor. He prefers to recycle the old heavy stuff than buy light diy stuff. Can anyone identify it to give us a chance of sourcing a 240v 1PH motor? He has the bottom pully and could fabricate any mounting brackets required. I notice these tools...

What is a “250 watt continuous” motor? (DC variable speed)

It could be that your bike is sold in other countries but is limited to 250w in the UK. Its well known that a lot of UK bikes can be modified to 500w or so using software. If your wife's bike has a crank mounted motor I assume it is likely a more expensive bike so may have better management...
