    Bathroom flooring

You would be better using T & G chipboard flooring as it will be nearer the thickness of any old floorboards (assuming 22mm) you marry up to and also is tongued so can be glued and will make it stronger than butt jointed ply.

    Private Number Plates

Seems to be a fashion for the trimmed plate round my area, not legally allowed but this one has been around a while.

Should self levelling compound look like this?

Looks very much like an inconsistent mix by the builder which is causing the differing rates of setting and poor finish. It can hopefully be topped up where needed but you may need to dig up the worst areas and re-do them.

    Shed to garage no planning

In a lot of cases demolishing something and then rebuilding on the same spot will require planning as it is seen as a total removal of a building and becoming a bare plot again rather than extending or converting a building. Have you checked if you can do it under Permitted Development rules ?

Soak away, 1930s, clay, concrete… should I buy some koi and a canoe?

You can contact your local Water Authority and request a plan of the drainage and water supply pipes at your property. Search the web for "pipe & sewer records" or "water mapping" for your region. This may help you identify where the nearest available outlet is and work from there.

Best way of cutting thick tile

The scorer will not make any impact on that thickness so you need to use a diamond blade on either a large tile saw or with a grinder / Stihl saw and clamp a straight edge to it for accuracy. Keep it wet whilst cutting with either option.

    Tension on front door lock

The latch is supposed to be the only thing in contact and the hooks are "floating" as it were so you may have contact with the hooks on the frame. This site has a troubleshooting guide among others that you can download.... https://www.coastal-group.com/Heritage-Plus-Auto-Multipoint-Lock and...

    Downpipe union join

No adhesive needed and they can just push into the sockets. Drainpipes and gutters are prone to expansion in different weathers so the bit of movement in the fittings is not a bad thing.

Leak on chimney lead back gutter

It is possible and as that seems to be the only obvious flaw then it is fair to target that area first and watch what happens at the next rainfall.

Gap in brickwork at the bottom of chimney/fireplace

It is likely a pipe entry / exit point for what could have been a back boiler years ago and is simple enough to fill with either a small piece of brickwork pointed in or just with mortar.

    Flat roof semi detached

It would appear to be a straightforward wallplate method fixed to the house wall for the full length and joists at 90 degrees to it from the 4m width diminishing to the 2.7m at the back. It would be built level and you would build in a fall from front to back with firrings to the required pitch...

Is this flush valve the type that unscrews?

After another look at yours it does look remarkably similar to the Optima 50, may be worth a closer look at getting it to undo. Have one with me so had a look and yours is the same, grip the base if you can and a firm twist anticlockwise should get it off.

Is this flush valve the type that unscrews?

Good plan, i often use the Siamp Optima 50 as they are dual flush and you can just change the upper section. https://www.cityplumbing.co.uk/p/siamp-optima-50-470mm-cable-112-inch-and-2inoutlet-32500210/p/390212#fo_c=2832&fo_k=27766b26a953dfe38bf410499399036f&fo_s=gplauk

Is this flush valve the type that unscrews?

See if it twists either way as that is generally the way they locate. Don't go mad with it as you will know fairly quickly if it ought to or not and don't overdo it.

    No planning permission

You ought to be more concerned about what exactly is holding up your wallplate as you have supported the ceiling/floor joists with a row of acros's but the ceiling/floor joists sit on the wallplate and it it the wallplate that needs support.

    Identify this guttering please

They do have a gasket inside the sleeve but in my experience you can never be quite sure they have stayed in place when you slide them together so i always use sealant to every joint too.

    Advice on Demolition hammer use

Cutting a trench with the grinder and diamond blade will do the best job and you just need to get a hosepipe trickling a stream of water onto the blade as you cut which will keep all the dust down. You can hire the disc cutter with the attachment from a hire shop if that is better for you but...
