I doubt it'll be the same, the cheapest i could find was £30, and not even sure if that had the ballast on it. At £12 its most likely a different size altogether.

Fluorescent lights - how likely to the ballasts blow out?

Hello all In the ceiling of our shop we have fluorescent lighting which is 2 x 5ft tubes at 58w each. The other day i was removing one of the tubes to replace it with another one to check if that was working. However, i didnt switch the light off at the mains (as it would get too dark and...

    Gainsborough shower, no hot water.

I wish . . . . :P Although the shower is in the same room its actually in its own cubicle separate to the bath itself. Anyways, i did call an electrician out who checked both the shower unit and the pull cord cable. The shower turned out to be goosed as in the elements were shot so it...

Patio heater keeps tripping mains fuse???

Is there a point to your post? One of the joys of living at 54°35'N is that i have the freedom of sitting outside in the middle of winter with just my bare pants on while burning fuel and toxicating the environment in order to keep myself warm. And this is all whilst my shiny new...

Patio heater keeps tripping mains fuse???

What trips is the MCB, the "fuse" for all the sockets in the house. Its not the extension cable, thats ruled out. Its the actual heater plug itself thats causing the main fuse to trip regardless of wether i plug it into a socket or another extension cable. Your theory of the plug or the...

Patio heater keeps tripping mains fuse???

Just trying the old process of elimination to be honest with you. I know its only £37, but what with the extension cable blown aswell i dont want to get another one and find the same thing happen again if it was something else that caused it to go pop in the first place.

Last week i thought the w/m wasnt drawing in water but i couldnt really see that as it had clothes in it. Took the clothes out and set it to wash, it draws in water and then starts to wash, but when it tries to switch over from the "WASH" programme to the "RINSE and SPIN" programme it seems...

Hotpoint WF440 w/m - Stops after drawing in water???

Ok, this isnt flashing anything, all the right buttons are lit up, but just stay lit, nothing flashes. But heres a critical update though . . . . . my mum put in about a gallon of water via the detergent drawer and hey presto it started working. Then she had to put in another gallon later on...

Hotpoint WF440 w/m - Stops after drawing in water???

[/url] Thanks for that, but would worn brushes allow it to turn twice first? Plus once it stops i cant hear anything else, like a pump or anything, working in the background. It just comes to a complete stop after 2 turns, all the power is still there.

Hotpoint WF440 w/m - Stops after drawing in water???

With the bad weather we havnt done much of the washing as there wasnt anywhere to really dry it. So anyway, after about a week of not using the washing machine there was quite a bit of washing to do. So we put the first load in, it was washed as usual. The the second load and that was washed...

Worcester Greenstar HE - What does the siphon do?

Thanks, i think thats just what it is, a seal at the bottom of it. Im guessing its not too critical to change it then? And the siphon always seems to be full, is that also about right?
